DVSA Check Software

DVSA-aligned checks for HGV and PSV fleets

Run daily driver walkarounds and manage periodic safety inspection records from one fleet compliance platform.

Qinetic guides drivers through the right checks, gives the office live visibility, and keeps the evidence trail attached to the driver and vehicle.

Two DVSA workflows, one compliance record

Daily walkaround checks and periodic safety inspections serve different purposes. Qinetic keeps both visible without mixing their schedules or records.

Before the vehicle moves

Daily driver walkaround checks

  • Guided HGV and PSV checklists aligned to DVSA walkaround guidance.
  • Vehicle, driver, odometer, time, and optional location captured with the check.
  • Random photo prompts help discourage pencil-whipping and rushed submissions.
  • Drivers can report a problem with a photo, voice note, or written detail and mark whether the vehicle is safe to drive.

Across the maintenance cycle

Periodic safety inspections

  • Set a normal inspection interval by vehicle type, with a justified vehicle-level override when needed.
  • See vehicles that are planned, need scheduling, are due, overdue, or awaiting rectification.
  • Store inspection details, reports, supporting attachments, and the next due date against the vehicle.
  • Record rectification and roadworthiness review, then export a vehicle compliance pack when evidence is requested.

From the driver's phone to the office dashboard

The driver gets a focused step-by-step check. The office gets the exceptions that need action.

Choose the assigned vehicle

The driver selects an assigned HGV or PSV and records the odometer before starting.

Follow vehicle-specific guidance

Each item explains what to inspect, from lights and tyres to braking, coupling, load security, and cab checks.

Capture evidence at the source

Photos, voice notes, timestamps, and location can be kept with the check rather than separated across paper and messages.

Review before submitting

Drivers see completed, failed, and skipped items in a clear summary before the record is submitted.

Spot missing or unsafe checks

The office dashboard shows all OK, defects, not safe, in progress, and not started vehicles for the selected date.

Keep the vehicle history together

Daily checks and periodic inspection records remain linked to the correct organisation, driver, and vehicle.

DVSA checks software FAQs

Is Qinetic approved or endorsed by DVSA?

No. Qinetic is independent software. Its HGV and PSV daily checklists are aligned to published DVSA walkaround guidance, but operators remain responsible for choosing suitable processes and meeting their legal and operator licence obligations.

What is the difference between a daily check and a periodic safety inspection?

A driver walkaround is the pre-use check completed before driving. A periodic safety inspection is a planned, more detailed inspection in the vehicle's maintenance cycle. Qinetic records and monitors both as separate workflows.

Does it support both HGVs and PSVs?

Yes. Qinetic selects a guided checklist for HGVs or PSVs so drivers see items relevant to the vehicle they are checking.

What happens when a driver finds a defect?

The driver records the failed item, supporting detail, and whether the vehicle is safe to drive. The submitted check and evidence are then visible to the office against that vehicle.

Do drivers need to install an app?

No app-store installation is required for the check workflow. Drivers can open it from the mobile-friendly driver portal or a secure check link provided by the operator.
